INTRODUCTION
Ass.Prof, PhD, MD Vu Hong Thang is one of Vietnam's leading doctors in cancer diagnosis and treatment. He was a senior lecturer and deputy head of the oncology department at Hanoi Medical University, and also a doctor in charge of internal medicine and oncology at major hospitals in Vietnam including K Hospital and Tan Trieu K Hospital.
Currently, Ass.Prof, PhD, MD Vu Hong Thang is Vice Principal - In charge of Health Sciences.
In addition to more than 25 years of experience in cancer treatment, Ass.Prof, PhD, MD Vu Hong Thang also made great contributions to the advancement of oncology through 17 articles and scientific research in international ISI / Scopus journals of which he was the main author and co-author, in addition to 137 scientific research articles in domestic specialized journals.
He is also the editor of books considered as textbooks for oncology such as Medical treatment of cancer, Medical Publishing House 2010, General oncology, Education Publishing House 2011, Oncology, Medical Publishing House 2015. Handbooks and guides for oncology specialists such as, Guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of some common cancers, Medical Publishing House 2016; Diagnosis and treatment of head and neck cancer, lung and digestive system cancer, Medical Publishing House 2017; ESMO handbook for diagnosis and targeted treatment, Precision Medicine (translated book), Huong Trang Publishing House 2024.
Ass.Prof, PhD, MD Vu Hong Thang is also the Chairman of the Hospital's scientific council, teaches CME and intensive courses, and is a member of the European Society of Oncology (ESMO), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), a consultant for the Vietnam Breast Cancer Network and holds many other roles such as a speaker, consultant, and reviewer on cancer for a number of hospitals and medical and scientific organizations in and outside the country.
